MENTORING for artists and creative industry practitioners

‘I have treasured Greg as my mentor for an ongoing number of years. He is an indispensable asset for myself and the development of my career as a dance artist.’

'Greg has been an amazing mentor, from getting me to talk about my processes and reflections, he has advanced my work in such a kind and supportive way that I wouldn't be where I am today. I highly recommend Greg he is worth every penny.’

‘Not only is Greg a highly experienced, personable mentor – his wealth of knowledge of the creative sector allowed him to easily unpick and understand my own challenges and aspirations. I felt like he completely understood why I was seeking mentorship and gave me both bespoke and practical advice for my particular situation. Freelancing can be a fairly isolating experience – these mentoring sessions allowed me to sense check my approaches and have a valuable discussion with someone outside of my day-to-day working environment.’

‘Greg has been a really fantastic mentor. He’s both met me where I currently am and encouraged me to develop both my practice and the business side of things by creating a website. He is both knowledgeable and incredibly personable and kind. I have struggled with being a mentee in the past due to my mental health and neurodiversity so he was like a breath of fresh air!’

Over time my career has naturally diverged into two areas. On one side is the bells-and-whistles of a large-scale creative project, be it arts programme, film festival, or artist project.

On the other side is the focused mentoring work that I undertake with artists, curators, writers, producers, and all kinds of creative practitioners.

Over time I’ve realised that the latter helps make the former possible, and yet how often as artists do we get to reflect without judgement on our ideas, uncertainties, ambitions, inspirations, doubts?

Creative people often work in isolation, with uncertainty about their path, financial insecurity, imposter syndrome … sound familiar?

I have benefitted from coaching and mentoring in my own path, and my approach borrows elements of both areas to meet you where you are.

I work one-to-one or with groups, specifically tailored and addressing needs and challenges commonly faced in our industry, guided by 15 years of experience.

If a workshop or talk is a better fit in a group setting, I can do that too.

My mentees and I have worked on DYCP applications, structuring novels, confidence building, social media presence, promotion, idea development, communication, applications, goal orientation, and more.

My sessions are fun, friendly and focused, driven by conversation, reflection and practical steps.

I work to hourly rates that tailored to your resources depending if you are working, grant funded, unemployed, etc.

If you’re self-employed you can claim mentoring and coaching costs as tax deductible expenses towards your professional development, and I can even show you how..

Get in touch if you want a no-obligations chat about how I can support you.
